Queen Mary Centre was the venue for a recent International Women's Day event that saw a range of businesses, unions and charities coming together to celebrate the women of today and tomorrow. There were talks by local authors Diane Calton Smith and Alison Crouch and Jo Rust. There was an advice hub for working women, bookstalls, craft and community stalls, food tasting, singing by Nine-Lives Theatre Company and traditional dancing from Misfit Molly and a Traditional Lithuanian Dance Group.
